THIS IS NOT A BIG TALK , I will save the dogs
Hi ghjhgjh
I appreciated your email highlighting my responsibilities. task and role .
I am quite confident that I can commit at least for 3 months except for some day where I go for marathon races on 21th of may and 28th of may .
I strongly believe you need someone who can commit ,not afraid of smells , cleaning up poos and also MUST love dogs, not afraid of been biten . My hands had teeth marks of dog which I never regret them . Painful they may be .But they are dogs which I love.
So far, I think I am able to do it I am having a shih tzu at home . . I am good with Small puppy . I never managed big dog except for bringing my cousin Australian Collier Sheep dog for a walk daily . He is quite heavy and love to pull on leash , Abit of behaviour probhem . I love reading up books on dog behaviour , dog sports and also health of dogs .I wanted to be vet(my dad say I am too dumb to be that) . I love animals and work best with animals .good interdog skills .
I am crazy about dog , when I was oversea at melbourne for my job a period , I joined the RSPCA . I cotributed regularly to them . I really want to help the dogs in the world if I can . Start a haven for lost ,terminal sick animals ,educated the public about dog .
Sometimes oversea, you even see people buying dog as a gift for thier girlfriends or children, which after they found that having a dog not just an easy task and it demand lifetime commitment , lots of patience and love . I think the dog just want ,we,the human to spend more time with them . I had been beaten by my dog because I try to feed it medicine in hope that it get well faster . And sick dog is mostly short tempered . (Just like we human) I can imagine how fearful or problem you may encounter with your dogs who are abandon .
SO I don't believe in using brute force to disciple a dog , no matter how bad a dog may be .(Stories of Dog biting people ,over protecting thier food bowl and blah blah ) I felt strongly we human had make the dog its way . They trusted us so much yet we didn't bother to disciple them ,toilet train them ,when they grow into teenager dog. the bad behavior just grow with them They don't know whatever they are doing . They learn from circumstances , environment and us . They had only 10 more year of thier , is it that 10 more year of loving and making a dog life better as they had make ours , seem to be tough with society . who should be their protector ?
We human had domesticated dog and I really felt sad when dog brought from pup mills and in the end may be found in the rubbish bin . I better stop here. I think all I could do , as I am not finanical well to do , the least is to give my time helping you keep the pen cleans ,provids ing better enivornment for those poor dogs and also spending time playing with them . I know it is a dirty and hard job . Love for dog is something which I think it can help me to overcome I believe I hope we can save more dogs and people will adapt dog , nuetur thier dog . And I hope to be part of your team . About the travel to yoour centre , maybe you can give the exact location and map .I may beg my dad to volunteer and send me to your center every Saturday .And Most of all , I hope you can teach me and assigned me whatever needed to be done .
As for this saturday as I am feverish and sick recently , I wouldn't able to make it .But for the coming Saturday ,I will see you at your centre . I can also take up adhoc work or be puppy minder. I thought of fostering dog too,but my dad say one Lucky (my shit tzu) is giving him and mum alot of headache . And my parents are against the idea of bringing another dog into my home . Else I will adapt one of your dog . I think since I cant contribute to you financial , or be much of any help in anyways . even with my strong belief in saving dogs .I love dogs So I hope you can allow me now do my small little part by helping you out .let me prove that this is just an nonsense talk of mine or my big dream . Give me a chance to help you and yoru dogs , and let it be all would be part of my life
Thanks ,
Hope to hear from you .

Thank you for expressing interest in volunteering at our Adoption and Rescue Centre (ARC). We'll explain some of the kennel duties so you can have a better understanding of what is required of you.
Your responsibilities include socialising and walking the dogs. A number of the dogs at ARC are quite fearful of people so your job is to interact with them and draw them out of their shell. If you are able to help train them to understand basic commands, that would be a bonus.
If you see any pee or poo, you are expected to pick up the poo and clean up the pee with a mop. We strive to maintain a clean and spotless environment so volunteers are not encouraged to wear footwear into the premises.
We have mainly medium to large size dogs at the ARC so you must feel comfortable being around them. Dogs can detect fear and will take advantage of the situation if they sense that you are afraid. Our dogs are generally not aggressive but they can bite if provoked so care needs to be taken by the volunteer.
Besides interacting with the dogs, volunteers may also be asked to help with other tasks such as painting, gardening, moving funiture and other heavy items as well as cleaning and tidying rooms.
ARC volunteers are expected to help out at our kennels every Saturday from 12.30 - 3.30pm on a long term basis. The ARC is located in Lim Chu Kang and is quite inaccessible if you don't drive. Getting there by public transport involves taking an MRT to Kranji station and either continuing the journey by taxi or taking a bus and walking a distance in the sun or rain.
If you can only help out on an ad hoc basis or if you find that you cannot handle the responsibilities we have mentioned but are still interested in volunteering with us, please sign up on our website (www.asdsingapore.com) to receive our quarterly newsletters and other updates. We occasionally call for volunteers for ad hoc events (as puppy minders for example) so maybe you will have the opportunity to help out with our dogs in future.
If you are still interested in becoming an ARC volunteer, please let us know when you wish to start.
Thanks and best regards
